The Sorby Chatter Tool is a tool for decorating turned objects.
By means of spring steel cutting edges, which perform a chattering movement on the workpiece, a variety of patterns can be created on end grain wood. The patterns can be varied by:
- changing the shape of the cutting edges (4 variants)
- adjusting the overhang of the cutting edges
- changing the speed
- cutting edge engagement on, above or below the center of the turning axis
- moving or standing tool guide
The tool includes two differently shaped double-ended spring steel cutting edges (chatter blades) and a drop-shaped scraper blade (RS222C).Handle length = 230 mm Total length = 350 mm
